Stay Safe with Adaptive Equipment Assessments in Cambridge, Southwestern and Northeastern Ontario
Mobility in Motion can offer information on how to be safely and properly assessed for Adaptive Driving Controls. Specialized driving aids are just as diverse and unique as those who need them. We work with medical professionals, giving adaptive equipment assessments to ensure our equipment is the right fit for you and your vehicle. Similar to getting a pair of prescription eyeglasses, we use your assessment from a Certified Driver Rehabilitation Specialist (CDRS) or an Occupational Therapist (OT) who specializes in assessing driving skills to help you find the equipment you need to purchase and install.
Member of NMEDA
Here at Mobility in Motion we are members of The National Mobility Equipment Dealers Association or NMEDA. This non-profit international organization works with ADED to ensure proper mobility equipment installation as well as proper maintenance and service. As a NMEDA Dealer, Mobility in Motion undergoes yearly inspections to make sure our operation is up to NMEDA standards. We have trained technicians, keep detailed maintenance records on all adaptive work, provide 24 hour emergency service, and maintain proper insurance coverage.
Why Do You Need an Assessment?
Driving a vehicle requires more than just the physical ability to operate controls. You must also have adequate vision, integrated reflexes, and appropriate cognitive skills. The assessment measures how well you see and react to situations while driving with your adaptive equipment. Only an OT or CDRS in good standing with ADED can complete the assessment and provide you with a prescription for your adaptive equipment.
